Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn was born in America. She is an actress who has performed professionally for 27 years. From the age 27, she has worked as a professionally active thespian. She began her career in 1990, in a non Broadway production of The Big Funk, by John Patrick Shanley. Then, in The Perfect Tribute, she made her TV debut a year later. In 1992 she got her first big break after being cast in the film Basic Instinct as a minor character. The Firm marked her first role as a female leading actress. She was paired with Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. Through the 1990s she collaborated alongside some of the most renowned names in the field, such as Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors Hugh Grant in Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews in Relative Values. She was Dr. Alex Blake on the well-known international crime thriller Criminal Minds.
